Good News Church, Nis - the story so far

- 1990s - A number of students saved during a YWAM mission in 1990s. In its early days it was supported by newfrontiers Churches in Harrow, Harpenden and Luton.
- 1996 - Bata (now an elder with Vlada) and Sladjana Djordevic moved to Nis and faithfully served the group of new believers through a difficult time in Serbian history.
- Sonja from Aylsham Community Church went to work in Serbia as a translator. She met and married Vlada Stojanovic and they came back to the UK to work with Aylsham Community Church for 3 years, training and gaining experience in Church planting and developing work within the community.
- 2003 - Vlada and Sonja moved back to Serbia to help lead the small group of believers in Nis. The Church was meeting in a shed in a back garden or in people’s homes.
- October 2006 – Good News Church, Nis moved into its new building - a two storey house in an excellent position, close to the centre of Nis, financed by Norfolk newfrontiers Churches.
- July 2007 - Good News Church, officially became part of newfrontiers.
- Good News Church is now growing and developing projects in the community among youth and students, mums and toddlers, English speakers and business people. It currently has around 35 regular attendees including children.
- Maurice Nightingale, lead elder of Aylsham Community Church, provides apostolic oversight and Aylsham Community Church supports Vlada financially to enable him to work full time for the Church. Norfolk Churches regularly send out teams of people to serve, teach and provide leadership support.
